Tally served UAE businesses well for years, until VAT, Corporate Tax, multi-warehouse stock and remote work outgrew it. The number-one fear we hear from finance managers is simple: "Will we lose data in the move?" Done properly, the answer is no, and this is the process we use on every migration.
What migrates from Tally
- Masters: chart of accounts, customers, suppliers, items, price lists, tax registrations.
- Opening balances: ledger balances, customer/supplier outstanding invoices, stock quantities and values per warehouse.
- Open documents: unpaid invoices, undelivered orders, post-dated cheques.
- History (optional): summarised monthly ledgers, or full transaction history where required for audit.
The five-step migration process
1. Audit
We export your Tally data and audit it: duplicate ledgers, inconsistent item units, unreconciled balances. You get a findings list before anything moves.
2. Mapping
Tally ledger groups map to a clean UAE chart of accounts, structured for FTA VAT boxes and Corporate Tax reporting from day one.
3. Cleansing and import
Data is cleaned, transformed and imported through validated templates. Failed rows are reported, fixed and re-run. Nothing silently disappears.
4. Reconciliation
Every control figure is reconciled against Tally: trial balance, receivables and payables ageing, stock valuation. Sign-off happens against printed comparisons, not promises.
5. Parallel run
You run both systems for an agreed period. When your team trusts the numbers, we cut over, and your auditors get a clean continuity story.
What you gain on the other side
- FTA-format tax invoices and one-click VAT return figures (see our VAT setup guide).
- Real multi-user access with roles and approvals, no more single-PC bottleneck.
- Live stock across warehouses, barcode-ready.
- WPS payroll, fixed assets, budgets: modules Tally never had.
- Zero per-user licence fees as you grow.
How long does it take?
Migration is normally week 2 of our 4-week implementation. Complex multi-company Tally setups can add a week. We tell you upfront after the audit, not after the invoice.
